Journey’s mission is to develop and deploy disciples of Jesus so that every man, woman and child might have multiple opportunities to hear, see and respond to the gospel of Jesus. We know that Journey Church alone can not see this mission fulfilled. One way we get to see that mission and vision lived out is through church planting. We are excited to share that this weekend we will see two churches launch their first public services.
Hope Church has been meeting at Journey Ladson for the past several months while developing their core team. This Saturday, September 24th at 6PM at the Ladson Campus, Hope Church will launch their first public service. Hope Church’s long-term plan will be to move to the Oakbrook area of Summerville to focus with the gospel. The Fellowship of Oakbrook is local church that has agreed to allow Hope Church to utilize their facility beginning in January. It has been a joy and honor to host Hope Church here at Journey.
Compass Church is a church plant of the Church at Cane Bay. Compass Church is focused on reaching the older community in and around the Del Webb area of Cane Bay. Compass Church will launch this Sunday, September 25th at 10AM – Cane Bay Elementary School. A unique element to celebrate is that the Church at Cane Bay was a church plant of Journey in 2011, which makes Compass Church Journey’s first granddaughter church plant.
We are so excited to see how God is going to use them in our city. Please join us in praying for their upcoming launches. If you or anyone you know would benefit from connecting on Saturday nights with Hope Church or working with Compass Church, please be sure to consider visiting them this weekend.
